India make history in Asian Rugby Women Championship

Indian women rugby 15s team made history by winning their first-ever test match and a bronze medal in the Asia Rugby Women Championship at Southern Plains Sports Field in Manila, Philippines today. India achieved the glory by defeating Singapore 21-19 in the thrilling third-place match.

Odisha lass Sumitra Nayak was the main architect of the victory, converting two penalty kicks. Earlier in their opening match, India suffered a narrow 27-32 against hosts Philippines.
